Leading Hand - Distribution division
As a Leading hand you will regularly communicate and
collaborate with all staff within the transport and despatch
divisions.
The Leading Hand is accountable for the smooth and efficient
running of the area and is to ensure all work is completed on
time
Major responsibilities will include:
- Adhere to the OHS policies and procedures
- Dealing with transport requirements
- Distribution of Work
- Maintaining stock quantities
- Scheduling where required
- Driver training
- Liaise with clients on and off site
- Supervision & Discipline of Staff
Work closely with the Distribution Manager and Supervisor,
providing relief for all positions as required.
To be successful in this role, you must be able perform each
essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are
representative of the knowledge, skills and/or ability
required.
- A minimum of 5 years industry experience
- Exp. HC driver (5yrs)
- Exposure to transport within the sheetmetal/steel industry (oversize loads)
- HIAB & Dogman tickets
- Intermediate computer skills
- The ability to listen and communicate with others.
- Personal drive, initiative and resourcefulness.
- Be methodical in your approach to work
- The ability to provide strong problem-solving abilities and techniques
- Proven good work ethics, reliability and skills.

management skills and ensure their team complies with all OH&S
and CMI policies and procedures.
